Kristen Hoover began her equine journey riding with Ahlem's Arabians in Bakersfield, California. When the opportunity arose she pursued her passion to Meredith Manor International Equestrian Centre. She attended Meredith Manor graduating with the spring class of 1998 and then continued her educational experience there as a Graduate Assistant for just under two years. During her time at Meredith Manor she rode more than 1000 hours under certified instructors on over 100 different horses and taught over fifty students. |

She has experience working with students of all levels, from the student who has never ridden to the professional looking to improve his or her skills. Her passion is in helping riders understand their horses and in developing a harmonious communication system between the horse and rider. The last thirteen years have been spent helping riders in over six states continue on their equestrian journey. Her love of education recently led her to further her skills and knowledge base by getting a BA in Religious Education from Southern Adventist University. She has dedicated her life to being a life long learner as well as a facilitator of learning. Kristen has worked with a variety of horses from starting youngsters, to bringing a horse up the levels and finishing work. All training is done from the basis of the timeless principles of dressage. She works with horses in all disciplines whether trail, reining, jumping or dressage. Respect of the horse and developing each horse's individual talents and skills is emphasized. She has been developing a theory for holistic riding instruction that addresses the rider as a whole rather than merely the physical aspects of riding. Riders are more than just atheletes. Riders must be problem solvers who grapple with the issues of theory and practice. They must choose whether or not to adhere to their beliefs about the horse or to compromise in their pursuit of an immediate goal. Will the rider be humble and teachable or be rigid and fixed? Will the rider be willing to appear wrong in the eyes of others to pursue what is pure and best for the horse? Riders are embarking on a mental and spiritual journey that takes place in the midst of a physical medium (Ron Meredith). The horse is often a reflector of the truths about ourselves. Usually we are too proud to accept their commentary and punish the horse for being honest with us. Kristen was married to Mark Hoover in the summer of 2008. In 2012 she and Mark welcomed their first born son into the world. She is currently accepting students and horses in the Parkersburg, WV and Marietta, OH area. Openings are very limited as she is devoting most of her bouncing baby boy.
